My beloved Citizens!
Greetings to all Amiri People and the AIDU family. Barely six years ago in the spring of 2006, while on my visit to Nigeria, and resting in my compound, there were noise and sounds of musical drums and jubilation around my premises. I sent one of my little cousins to go and find out what was
happening. The little boy returned moments later to alert me that it was a
gathering of Amiri people including four white people at Saint Gregory's Secondary School. I was speechless.
I immediately suspended going to my planned
appointment and quickly dressed up hastily and drove to the school. In fact, it was true. I joined them and listened attentively and enjoyed the dance performed by our children as they entertained all those that gathered for the event. I was there when a lot of our elders took the micro phone and spoke candidly.
The visitors as well spoke and said that they were very reluctant to come to Nigeria, due to the fear about traveling to Nigeria.
At some point the master of ceremony recognized my presence. I greeted them and told them that I was highly pleased to be in their presence. I did not recognize the young man who coordinated the event as my cousin Romanus Uzoukwu, pointed him to me. I was interested to know who he was and how he pulled it off? It was later revealed to me that the young man was in fact a close brother. His name is Kenneth Okorie, he is a junior brother to Romanus
Okorie.
I later spoke and thanked the visitors for their courage, compassion and love of others. I thanked them for taking the risk of leaving their families, jobs and country to visit Nigeria at the time when people around the globe are discouraged to travel to Nigeria. I, as well told the audience that such an effort will in the future be replicated by our citizens most especially, those talented and gifted students. I then encouraged all the students and parents to do their best to see that the dreams of every child is fulfilled, especially with this type of challenge.
I told the visitors that the Amiri people look forward to visiting Germany in due time by the help of God. I later met with the brain behind it and thanked him before I left for my appointment.
My people, today that due time is now here. This year 2012, some of our children has been slated to visit one of the prosperous European countries, Germany. This idea is noble and encouraging. Please, join all our people and thank Mr. Kenneth Okorie.
I told the German people then about AIDU, and promised them that when such opportunity present itself, that AIDU will not be absent. My people, that opportunity is here. We are steadily and gradually making progress. I will keep all of you fully informed. By the special grace of our Lord, I and the VP, Prince Vitalis Ogbeama will be traveling to Europe and will use the opportunity to discuss AIDU's desire to make all our people in Europe to be affiliated with AIDU.
The discussion and logistics are still being planned. The trip will be around the last week of April through first week of May 2012. We need prayers for God's protection for us all. Thank you and remain highly blessed and
favored. Thank you.
Hon Dike Uzoukwu
AIDU President.
