Dike M. Uzoukwu Wins AIDU Presidency By 1 Vote.

Dike M. Uzoukwu has emerged as the new president of Amiri International Development Union, AIDU after a closely contested election. Mr Uzoukwu of the Washington, DC chapter defeated Prince Vitalis Ogbeama of Oregon chapter by a razor thin margin of 1 vote. The final tally was 18 votes for Mr Uzoukwu and 17 votes for Prince Ogbeama.

The election was held at the 2011 convention of AIDU hosted by the Washington, DC chapter at Chief Magnus Onyima's house. Mr Uzoukwu takes over the presidency from Mr Teddy Ojibe who served as president for two terms. Mr Ogbeama was nominated to serve as the Vice-President and was returned un-opposed. Mr Uzoukwu and his cabinet were sworn into office early in the morning of July 4, 2011 by Dr Gerry Uba, an AIDU patron.
